Stanger Ghyll above Stonethwaite (73)

A red flare was reported to have been seen above Stanger Ghyll above Stonethwaite. A team member from Rosthwaite investigated by climbing the full length of the Ghyll and found nothing and had no response to regular shouts. At the estimated time of the sighting there were military jets circling above the fell. Perhaps the flare was linked to this?
