On the way to callout 63 at Stoneycroft Beck ‘Mobile,’ one of the team’s Landrovers, rolled off the track and ended up down on the Newlands road. The occupants of the vehicle escaped with relatively minor injuries but the Landrover is beyond economic repair. Everything inside the vehicle survived but exterior equipment including a stretcher that was mounted on the roof and the telescopic aerial attached to the rear are both write offs. This leaves the team without one of it’s main callout vehicles and our response capability is now seriously compromised. Short term solutions are being considered as well as a longer term replacement but it is a major and costly blow to the team.
