Callout Date: 09/03/2024
Callout Time: 5:00 pm
Agencies Involved: Keswick MRT, Penrith MRT, NWAS
A mother and a daughter were helping each other descend a steep slippery path on the side of Castle Crag in Borrowdale. One slipped causing both to fall and suffer suspected ankle fractures. The initial response was to Hollows Farm to speak to the informant who then gave directions to the location of the casualties. The remainder of the team went in via New Bridge near Rosthwaite. The casualties were given analgesia, ankles were splinted and they were both stretchered to team vehicles which transported them to an NWAS ambulance at Rosthwaite. Many thanks to Penrith team members who were able to help on this callout after being turned around on incident 24.
