An off duty doctor phoned the emergency services after coming across a woman with a broken ankle, caused by a slip whilst descending Catbells. Team members were soon on scene after navigating the bank holiday traffic. Pain relief was provided and the ankle splinted prior to a stretcher carry back to the road. After the woman had left for hospital the team took five to enjoy some rare sunshine and a ’99’ kindly donated by the local ice cream man.
