Callout Time: 4:20 pm
Agencies Involved: Keswick MRT
A report was received from the fire service and the iPhone emergency contact centre of one of two females who had fallen and sustained a knee injury. The Lat/Long location given put the pair on the summit of Raise. All further attempts to contact the casualty party to confirm details failed. With summit temperatures close to freezing, heavy rain and gale force winds, unless the pair were very well equipped there was a strong possibility of hypothermia. The Team made their way up from Stannah via Sticks Pass to Raise summit. The casualties could not be found so a search of the area was commenced. Numerous attempts were made to call the casualties and to locate them by Phonefind, without any success. Having gone as far as Whiteside and beyond without finding anyone it was decided, after consulting with the police, that the search should not be continued. As the Team were making their way down the police received a call from the casualties saying that they had made their own way down and did not require assistance.
