An 85 year old man had climbed Ullock Pike with his U3A walking group emerging out of the clouds near the top to enjoy bright sunshine and a cloud inversion giving a brocken spectre. On the descent the man slipped and tumbled a fair distance banging his head and bashing himself up somewhat. The team assessed the man’s injuries before supporting him on the descent back to the roadside which he was able to do at an impressive speed. His friends collected him to take him to Keswick Cottage Hospital for further checks.
