A couple had walked along the track to Force Crag Mines and had gone a few hundred metres beyond the stream crossing when they stopped for a rest before climbing up towards Outerside. The man suddenly developed severe back pain and could not continue. On arrival a team medic assessed the man and administered strong analgesia before doing a short stretcher carry to the vehicles from where he was driven down the track to rendezvous with an ambulance.
