A woman was out walking with a small group, descending the path from High Spy that passes over Nitting Haws towards Borrowdale, when she slipped and fell resulting in a dislocated shoulder. The group were well equipped with one of their party a recently retired doctor so they were able to make the casualty as comfortable as possible. Due to the location and the nature of the injury helicopter support was requested from the Great North Air Ambulance. On arrival at the scene a team medic assessed the casualty and provided pain relief. Helimed 58 was only able to land on the ridge above so the casualty was stretchered up to the helicopter for onward transfer to Carlisle hospital.
