A mountain biker was out with a group of friends, descending from Watendlath, when he came off his bike over his handlebars. The team assessed the casualty and gave initial pain relief. Due to the nature of his injuries, the Great North Air Ambulance attended, providing further assessment and pain relief. The casualty was stretchered up the hill to the waiting helicopter for onward transfer to hospital.
