The team was alerted to a 30-year-old female who had become cragfast on a section of Sharp Edge. Details regarding her exact location and condition were limited as her mobile signal was dropping in and out. Attempts to re-establish contact from the Keswick MRT Base were unsuccessful, prompting an immediate response.
While team members were deploying to the fell, an update was received confirming that the woman had managed to self-rescue and was safely off the ridge. The team was stood down fifty minutes after the initial call and returned to base.
This incident marked the start of a particularly busy afternoon for Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, being the first of three rescues handled in quick succession.
