Scales Tarn, Blencathra (34)

After descending a busy Sharp Edge, a 34 year old slipped on the path below Scales Tarn. The resulting fall left him immobile with a dislocated patella. With a long stretcher carry, and with the team short on numbers, help was requested from Penrith MRT. After some strong analgesia the patella was relocated and the leg splinted. The man was sledged and carried back to the road where his friend took him to Carlisle hospital for further treatment.
