A young man fell whilst leading the climb ‘Monolith Crack’ On Shepherd’s Crag, resulting in a serious head injury. Multiple agencies responded with Helimed crews providing treatment in a difficult location. Fortunately Coastguard helicopter R199 was in the area and with some close proximity flying was able to quickly winch the ‘packaged’ casualty and deliver him to the care of Helimed staff in the fields opposite. After further treatment he was airlifted to hospital.
