A 62 year old mountain biker was descending the narrow trail from Ullock Pike above the Ravenstone Hotel. When the bike’s front wheel slipped off the trail the man was thrown over the handlebars landing at speed on the slope below and in the process dislocating his shoulder. On arrival the team administered strong analgesia to help relieve the man’s tremendous pain and discomfort. He was then packaged up and stretchered down to the road where an ambulance whisked him off to Carlisle hospital.
