This weeks training was out on the crag again, more practice lowering stretchers and this time introducing a high line to assist the ‘barrow boy’ by taking the weight of stretcher during a tricky decent at the bottom of the crag. this is done by tensioning a separate line controlled from the bottom of the crag giving enough lift to keep the stretcher about 1m above the ground, so the barrow boy only has to gently guide the stretcher over the screes slope.
