Callout Date: 22/08/2026
Callout Time: 2:08 pm
Agencies Involved: Keswick MRT, NWAS
While the team was already out heading to another incident, a priority call came in regarding a climber who had fallen approximately 3 metres on Troutdale Pinnacle. The climber had ended up upside down, sustaining a badly broken arm and a possible concussion. The team immediately diverted to this urgent shout, while Cockermouth MRT deployed to take over the original incident.
By the time the rescue team arrived at Black Crag, the casualty had already been safely lowered to the bottom of the crag by an adjacent climbing party. Team members provided advanced analgesia, splinted the broken arm, and stretchered the casualty down to an awaiting ambulance. We wish them a full and speedy recovery, and extend our sincere thanks to the passing climbers who assisted with the initial lowering.
