Blease Fell, Blencathra (143)

A young woman slipped and badly injured her lower leg whilst walking on Blease fell, Blencathra. GNAAS Helimed 58 was deployed and was able to land reasonably close to the casualty who was suffering tremendous pain. The GNAAS medic provided the initial treatment including strong analgesia. Shortly after the arrival of the team on scene the air ambulance was redeployed to another incident and KMRT took over responsibility for treatment of the casualty. Further analgesia was administered, the leg was splinted and the casualty was stretchered off the hill to a waiting ambulance.
