A 22 year old man managed to dislocate his knee by skimming a stone into Derwent Water. Fortunately his mother, who was with him, is a nurse and she provided pain relief prior to re-aligning his knee thereby massively reducing the pain. The man was still unable to weight bear so the family called for assistance. The team were able to park reasonably close at Brandlehow Bay and after assessment of the casualty were able to stretcher him back to a team vehicle. He was then taken back to the family’s holiday accommodation with a recommendation of a further check up at hospital.
