Cockermouth MRT requested assistance as many of their team members were involved in a concurrent incident. A man had fallen 2 to 3 metres off an exposed and steep section of the Buttermere lakeshore path causing significant and painful injuries. Team medics provided strong analgesia, and after an awkward packaging operation onto the stretcher, the man was hauled back up to the path and carried to an awaiting ambulance.
