A male e-mountain biker had a tumble into a stream on the Allerdale Ramble just south of Castle Crag. The man landed in the rocky stream and the bike which he was still clipped into fell on top of him with the weight transferring to his knee. With help from his friend he managed to drag himself out of the stream and into a bit of shelter from the wind but could not weight bear. Keswick team approached from New Bridge, Rosthwaite. The man was given pain relief and his leg immobilised in a vacuum splint before being stretchered down to the team vehicles and brought back to base. One lucky team member rode the man’s very nice bike back to town with the friend to collect their car for onward transport to hospital.
