A 63 year old man tripped on the short scramble section on Skelgill Bank, Catbells, sustaining cuts and abrasions to his head and bashing his shoulder and elbow. With multiple injuries and the possibility of rib and spinal damage the man was given pain relief and packaged in a vacuum mattress before being stretchered down to an awaiting ambulance.
