A woman and her partner were descending Catbells ‘off piste’ when the woman slipped on muddy ground and hurt her ankle. As she was unable to weight bear they called for a rescue. Team members approached up the Hause Gate path then through high bracken. The woman was given analgesia for her pain whilst her ankle was assessed and splinted. The woman kept the team entertained with her high spirits during the stretcher descent to their own vehicle, from where the couple made their own way to hospital.
