A runner had come across a lone climber with a serious head injury following a fall at a riverside crag in Coombs Wood near Armathwaite. A small Keswick team who were involved in a Penrith MRT led search in the Borders, were re-tasked to support other Penrith team members, along with Helimed 63, and Cumbria Police.

Following a medical assessment and treatment by Helimed paramedics, a rope rescue system was established to evacuate the injured man on a stretcher to a team vehicle. He was then driven to an awaiting ambulance for transfer to hospital.
