As the previous incident on Derwentwater was underway reports came in of an unattended paddle board in open water near to Friar’s Crag. The five from the canoe rescue advised that it did not belong to them but they had seen it earlier near to St Herbert’s Island. A search of the lake and lakeshore was initiated with the various agencies already present including the coastguard helicopter. At 22:00 the various teams stood down. The owner of the paddle board remains unresolved.
