Two kayakers were reported to be having difficulties and were unable to paddle to shore. The informant had set out with the others and was able to make it to the shore to raise the alarm. As part of a multi-agency response, Keswick team members launched their inflatable from the boat landings as well as sending two rescue boats from Derwentwater Marina with the aim of searching the southern shores of Derwentwater for the two missing kayakers. The kayakers were located by the Keswick MRT boat in the area near the Mary Mount Hotel. The kayakers were then escorted to shore and reunited with the third member of their team. All casualties were assessed by medical staff before they were allowed to return to their vehicle.
