Great Gable (80)

Wasdale team requested assistance in helping a lone walker who had fallen on wet rock near the summit of Great Gable injuring his leg and head. It was pretty grim on top but fortunately the man had a sleeping bag, to maintain some warmth, as he was planning to camp out on the fells. Keswick team made their way from the Drum House above Honister whilst Wasdale team went via Styhead. A team member from Wasdale did a good job in locating the man who was a little way off the path and soon after Keswick and Wasdale teams arrived on scene. After some pain relief the man was able to walk with assistance but a stretcher was later used for the seemingly endless descent to Seathwaite to an awaiting ambulance.
