Greenup Gill (97)

A group of three walkers were descending Heron Crag towards Greenup Gill when one of the group suffered a severe knee injury. At some point the casualty had also fallen in a stream and was wet and cold.

After one of the group ascended back up the fell to get a phone signal Keswick team deployed two vehicles and requested support from Penrith MRT. Analgesia was provided and the leg splinted prior to a long stretcher carry back to Stonethwaite. The casualty was conveyed to their own vehicle and advised to seek further medical checks.
