Hall’s Fell, Blencathra (44)

A walker had fallen 5 to 7m on a rocky section of the Hall’s Fell ridge on Blencathra, causing injuries to her back, head and arm. The walkers partner called for assistance and Keswick team deployed. Fortunately coastguard helicopter R912 was training in the area and was quickly on scene lowering a winchman/paramedic to the casualty. On arrival Keswick team assisted with pain relief and packaging before the casualty was airlifted to James Cook hospital.
