A female walker slipped on steep ground whilst ascending High Rigg causing a displaced ankle fracture. The incident occurred very near to St John’s church, and so the casualty’s party, which included two doctors, were able to assist the woman – also a doctor – down to their car just prior to Keswick team’s arrival. After some strong analgesia the ankle was reduced and splinted by a team medic on the back seat of the car. The group then departed to hospital for further treatment.

After a debrief Keswick team returned to base hoping this was the last call out of 2025.
