K2T Railway line (63)

Callout Date: 05/07/2023
Callout Time: 8:21 pm
Agencies Involved: Keswick MRT

The Keswick to Threlkeld railway line is a justifiably popular walk or cycle and the relatively smooth surface makes it ideal for roller skating. The tarmac is however quite unforgiving as one unfortunate roller skater found when she tried to save herself after a backwards fall by putting her hand down. This resulted in a dislocated elbow. The woman’s companion, a Keswick MR team member, called the team for assistance. A very rapid response followed with the team accessing the railway line and driving to the scene. Team doctors assessed the injury, provided analgesia and splinted the arm before transporting the casualty back to Keswick and their own transport to Carlisle Infirmary A&E.
