A 62 year old man slipped and went over on his ankle whilst descending the steep, damp grassy path below the seat on Latrigg. Unable to walk he called 999 for a rescue. A team member who happened to be biking nearby was on scene quickly followed shortly after by a team doctor who was also in the area. Thanks to the local woman who stopped to help and ended up looking after the man’s dog. On arrival the team gave analgesia, splinted the ankle and stretchered the man up and over the shoulder of latrigg back to the car park at the top of Gale Road. The man was then taken to base to rendezvous with an ambulance.
