A couple had become disorientated and stuck on steep ground near the top of Launchy Gill which overlooks Thirlmere. Concerned that continuing in receding daylight might make the situation worse they called for help. Keswick team made their way up the broken and tree strewn ground up the side of the gill and quickly located the couple. One had a slight knee injury but was able to make good progress on foot on the “friendlier” ground above the tree line and back to the team vehicles.
