Keswick team received an incident through the North West Ambulance Service. Two young males had been hiking the Cumbria Way and had made it to the Lingy Hut to set up camp for the night. At around midnight one of the males became unwell and was vomiting regularly throughout the morning. After requesting, advice and assistance through NHS 111, the incident was transferred to the ambulance service who request our help in getting the casualty off the mountain.
Keswick team were low on numbers on this early morning callout and could only deploy one vehicle. For the second time this week we made use of RAF MRT Lossiemouth who were training locally. Both teams ascended to the Lingy Hut from Carrock Mines and assessed the casualty. They packaged the casualty and began stretcher carry down to a waiting ambulance.
