A 24 year old male in a scout group went over on his ankle, likely adding insult to a previous injury and operation on the same ankle, and was unable to continue. Keswick team members made the long soggy approach up the Wythburn Valley from Steel End, Thirlmere and due to low numbers requested help from Penrith MRT. The casualty was assessed, given pain relief and his ankle strapped up and vacuum splinted before the long and often tricky stretcher drag/carry back down to the road. Many thanks to the Penrith team members for their invaluable help on this arduous carry out.
