A woman walking on Raven Crag, Thirlmere, slipped and suffered a painful fracture dislocation of her ankle. Keswick mountain rescue were requested and arrived quickly on scene. The casualty was given pain relief by casualty carers on the team before her ankle was reduced and splinted. She was then stretchered to her friend’s vehicle and, as an ambulance was not readily available, it was advised that they drive themselves to hospital for further treatment.
