Ravern Crag, Thirlmere (98)

A dog was observed running up and down a steep section of ground for about 30 minutes with no sign of the owner. Concerned that the owner may be in distress a passing walker reported the incident to the police. A team Land Rover was dispatched to investigate and carry out a search for the owner and dog in the immediate area of the sighting. In parallel a bit of detective work by the team found that a dog was lost and re-united with its owner in this area a few hours earlier. Due to the time discrepancy between the earlier dog find and the call out of the team the search continued to be reasonably confident that this was not another incident.
