The team was alerted after walkers found a man suffering from severe chest pains at the bottom of the Sail switchbacks on the Coledale Horseshoe. While the team mobilised, the passing walkers provided essential care by monitoring the casualty and providing warm layers.

Due to the serious nature of the incident, two team vehicles were deployed via Force Crag Mine alongside an emergency request for Helimed 08 from Blackpool. The air ambulance arrived just ahead of the first team members, and their crew took over the clinical treatment. The casualty was subsequently airlifted to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for urgent care.
