Skiddaw, Little Man (85)

The ambulance service were notified that a 54 year old man had collapsed and was unconscious near the summit of Little Man. Helimed 58 was quick to deploy but due to low cloud was unable to land anywhere near to the casualty. Keswick team arrived while CPR was underway by passing walkers and team members continued the resuscitation effort. In the meantime the cloud had lifted sufficiently to allow Coastguard helicopter R199 to deliver their paramedics to the scene. Sadly and despite the efforts of all involved the man could not be saved.
