A man, part of a group of 5 descending from the memorial service on Great Gable, slipped on wet ground above Stockley Bridge sustaining an injury to his knee. The man was unable to weight-bear so they called 999 and asked for Mountain Rescue assistance. On arrival the team provided pain relief before splinting the man’s leg, loading him onto a stretcher and then carrying him down to their own car for onward transfer to hospital.
