A participant in an organised ghyll scramble suffered a broken ankle after catching it on one of the rock slides. Once on scene Keswick team extricated the casualty from the ghyll and provided pain relief before splinting the ankle. The casualty was then stretchered down to the road for onward transfer to hospital.

This call-out was team member Simon’s 1500th rescue. He joined the team in 1987, and by the look of him it must have straight after primary school. Well done Simon, an amazing achievement.
