Taylorgill Force (96)
Callout Date: 24/08/2024
Callout Time: 6:21 pm
Agencies Involved: Keswick MRT, Coastguard helicopter, GNAAS
A passing walker called the emergency services after hearing shouts for help from a man who was performing CPR near to the Taylorgill Force waterfall. Helimed 58 and Keswick MRT deployed but due to weather conditions and the terrain Helimed could not land and had to abort. They did however provide an accurate location of the casualty site. Keswick team arrived but despite best efforts could not save the man.
The casualty location was on steep and difficult terrain so a Coastguard helicopter was requested but again due to weather conditions the Coastguard could not assist. A long and a technically complex recovery of the man proceeded.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the man’s family and friends, and in particular with the man’s son in law who was performing the initial CPR.
