Callout Time: 10:34 am
Agencies Involved: Keswick MRT, Cockermouth MRT, SARDA, LDSAMRA Drone Team

Cumbria Police requested Mountain Rescue help to search for a missing despondent woman in Whinlatter forest. The police had earlier conducted a hasty search with a number of police officers and a police dog. Keswick team members were initially tasked with search areas close to the car park. Four search dogs came to help search in what is often very densely vegetated terrain with limited visibility. The LDSAMRA drone team provided support with four drones covering the open ground. Eight team members from Cockermouth also attended. Search areas were expanded once the initial areas were covered. In the late afternoon search dog Kez along with handler Andy Colau, a search dog handler for 45 years, made the find – a good day for the dogs. The woman was taken to hospital by land ambulance for further checks.

23 Keswick team members, 8 Cockermouth MRT, SARDA, LDSAMRA Drone Group, Cumbria Police with search dog – 5 hours 57 minutes
