Just a few minutes after starting out from Whinlatter Forest Visitor Centre a novice mountain biker had an unfortunate, unplanned and rapid departure from his bike – over the handlebars. This resulted in a serious and very painful wrist injury. The team were able to drive to the casualty and give some strong pain relief before splinting the wrist and transporting him down to the car park from where he was taken to hospital.
