A 44 year old man slipped and tripped on the descent path to Seathwaite from Sty Head Tarn. The rain and poor visibility had decided them to abort their intended hike up Scafell Pike. The man went over on his ankle and was unable to continue. Fortunately at that location there was just enough phone signal to get a call through for a rescue. The team assessed the man’s ankle before splinting it and stretchering him down to Seathwaite for a handover with the ambulance.
