Keswick team were requested by Cumbria Police to assist in a multi-agency search for a missing man on Derwentwater. The man’s unoccupied self-drive hire boat had been found. Whilst the team were searching the lakeshore and islands Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 199 from Prestwick arrived on scene and quickly made a find, recovering the man into the helicopter. The man was flown to Carlisle Hospital where sadly he was declared deceased. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the man’s family and friends.
