A female member of a walking group tripped and fell on the path alongside Watendlath Beck knocking herself out momentarily and sustaining cuts and bruises to her head. Fortunately she was found quickly by other group members and treated at the scene by their walking guide who did a great job of bandaging her head wounds and stemming any bleeding. On arrival the team did a medical assessment, gave some pain relief and loaded her onto a stretcher for a short carry across the (fortunately low) beck to the road. The woman was taken to Keswick Cottage Hospital to await an ambulance to take her to the nearest x-ray department.
