Agencies Involved: Keswick MRT
A 23 year old female walker slipped whilst descending Skelgill Bank on Catbells injuring her ankle and rendering her unable to weight-bear. On arrival the team administered pain relief and splinted the ankle. Keswick team stretchers are equipped with skis and the steep and grassy slopes of Catbells provide excellent sledging terrain. With the use of a back rope for safety it makes for a quick, easy and, for the rescuers at least, relatively stress-free descent! The casualty was taken to her own car for onward transport to hospital.
