Callout Date: 29/08/2026
Callout Time: 11:21 am
Agencies Involved: Keswick MRT and Wasdale MRT

Cumbria Police received a call from a small group, one of whom was struggling to walk due to severe cramp. Initially, the job was with Wasdale MRT until it became clear that the group’s location was between Green Gable and Base Brown. Contact was made with the party by Keswick MRT where they were encouraged to keep moving uphill as to avoid a potentially arduous stretcher carry down Sour Milk Gill. The casualty’s friends were able to support and carry him to Green Gable and into Windy Gap. Keswick MRT made their way from Dubs Hut along Moses’ Trod and met the party just below Windy Gap. The casualty was assessed and he was unable to walk any further. He was placed in a stretcher and carried to the team’s Land Rovers before being driven down to Honister.
