Two people were scrambling up Beckthorns Gill when one of them sustained a foot injury. Unable to move and in a precarious position, the pair called for help. Due to the technical terrain, Coastguard Helicopter R897 was requested to assist. Unfortunately, they were unable to winch. The Keswick Team rigged a rope system to lower two team members to extract the casualties, during which time R897 had refuelled and returned.  The injured casualty was assessed and assisted to the helicopter for onward transport to hospital. The uninjured scrambler was walked off the hill by team members.
