A group of walkers were descending the Newlands side of Catbells when one of the party slipped on wet muddy grass and heard a distinct crack in her ankle. A couple of team vehicles were dispatched and on arrival pain relief was provided before the ankle was re-aligned. After splinting she was stretchered down to a Land Rover which met up with an ambulance which took her to Carlisle hospital for further treatment.
