Two men had reached the summit of Helvellyn via Striding Edge. Although they had adequate clothing for the cold conditions and a head torch, they had difficulty navigating in darkness and cloud off the summit, and down their intended route of Swirral Edge. Not sure of a safe route down they requested help. Keswick team sent a small team up to the summit and walked them down to Swirls car park by Thirlmere. They were then taken to Keswick from where they caught a taxi back to their car at Glenridding.
